Students found their California high school teacher Monday hanged in her classroom from an apparent suicide.

“Today, our district and, specifically, El Dorado High School experienced an extremely tragic event. One of our teachers, Jillian Jacobson, took her own life in her classroom prior to the start of school,” El Dorado High School Superintendent Doug Domene said in a statement Monday.

Students found the 31-year-old photography teacher’s body before class, and staff brought her down to the ground before emergency personnel arrived, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

She was pronounced dead at the scene, Concialdi said.

“Words could never express our true sorrow regarding this loss,” Superintendent Doug Domene added.

“We lost a very important faculty member,” one student told [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. “She was the greatest teacher that was here. She was an amazing teacher. It was a terrible thing that happened today.”

Support services will be provided to students and staff throughout the week.

This does seem somewhat fishy especially when everyone says how great and everything she was. Those poor students and staff.

That was my EXACT thought Rachel!!!! Unless she had a breakdown and it was a decision to do it then and there, a lot of people that commit suicide (at least from situations that I personally know of and have read about), chose to do it in a private place.

A thoughtless and selfish act. Tragic that she took her own life but also tragic for those who found her and have to live with that for the rest of their lives. Very sad.
