When police interviewed Gilman, she claimed she remembered neither illegally entering his home nor having sex with him. Gilman described herself as “mentally ill.”

The man told police he recognized Gilman as “a drug user in the area.”

On Monday, Gilman was charged of unlawful entry and second-degree rape. A warrant for her arrest has been issued.

It's not often that you hear stories of women raping men. What are your thoughts on this?
Do you think that this occurs more often then it is reported?
Is it different for a woman to rape a man opposed to a man raping a woman?

In a lot of cases of men claiming to be raped by a woman, people like to shrug it off, saying men can easily stop a woman from doing anything to them. It's easy to say that and just laugh it off but imagine how the man must feel? Men are programmed to be protectors and to not even be able to protect himself must be a pretty awful feeling for him. On top of that, a person he recognized as a local drug addict is not only in his home but sitting on him having see with him? It sounds like it would be just as scarring as if the roles were reversed and there was a man inside a woman's home like that.

I am glad she is being charged. Rape is rape whether it's a man who forces himself or a woman. There should never be a double standard, just like with dom violence.

I definitely think it occurs more than being reported, simply because men have egos and are very prideful. For them to have to say that a woman raped them has to be embarrassing and demoralizing, which is sad that's the kind of world we live in.

While I do agree that this is a serious offence and that this woman should be charged I have to say, I don't think it's the same. I do believe that the guy would be upset, embarrassed, angry but, now this may be harsh, in my opinion, it has no comparison to the terror and helplessness of a woman being raped by a man. The only way, I think, a man could feel that terror and humiliation is if he was analy raped by a man.

Omg I am glad she is being charged! I do think it happens more without it being reported only because the " mindset of the guys" I agree with Katy rape is rape.
