Quote :: A mysterious object has been caught on camera plummeting towards the earth in a giant ball of fire.

The short video was captured in the skies above Argentina at the beginning of the month and has just been uploaded to YouTube.

According to UFO Sightings Daily, local residents in Frías spotted the fireball and at first thought it was simply a meteor.

However, experts say that most space rocks burn up quickly when they hit the earth’s atmosphere whilst this footage shows the UFO burning for over three minutes.

The object also appears to change direction half way through the video, which has left many baffled.

The UFO was not only spotted in Argentina that day, but also in Brazil.

One local is reported to have said: "What we saw was like a meteor.

"In my house we were all surprised.

“In the sky it looked like a point radiating light and moving from one side to the other. "

And another resident added: "It is not the first time this has happened. Last year we saw something similar."

The UFO sighting is currently unexplained and sure to have conspiracy theorists rushing to point the finger at an alien invasion.
