Ugggh this is a hard one for me. Obviously thats really extreme but when I say something is going to happen as a punishment it WILL happen if you don't listen.
On the other hand I probably would've just said she'd be grounded for a week if she doesn't do it and that would be enough.
She's a little girl. To cut off her hair is probably excruciatingly embarrassing for her and I think the mom went too far.

I think thats too much. I can see cutting it short because shes not being responisble with it and the parents have to do it themselves but bald? Nope.

Way too fucking far! This poor little girl. Selena's hair takes after my husband's side and takes more to the ethnic hair and gets horribly knotted very fast and it's super thick. I have told her if she can't help me out with it now that she is getting older it will get cut shorter. However I would never threaten bald or even do it.

That's a bit extreme. She's a little girl, not only is she likely embarrassed but I almost guarantee that kids at school make fun of her now. I just don't see how lowering a childs self esteem and setting her up to be bullied is a good punishment. As the other girls have said, the mom could have just cut it shorter. A pixie cut is better than having no hair and I bet she would be cute with one.

Omg that is bad. It is going too far, why not have it cut so it is manageable, but not shave it all off, Then having too send her too school too face her friends. It just opened her up for bullying. So wrong.

My parents threatened me with this and it scared me enough that I did as I was told. Taking it too far...possibly but guarantee she will start taking care of her hair

Too extreme!!! My Mom threatened me with my hair. But it was because my bangs were always in face. She just threatened to cut them off. Trust me one time with scissors there is all it took. I to this day can't stand my hair in my face.
But to go bald. Too much. She's probably teased all the time for that now. Why make her self esteem so low?!?! Poor little girl!

That is disgusting and those useless parents have scarred that poor girl for life! Hair gows back but self esteem is not so easy to rebuild. I would have given her a cute little pixie cut instead!

My hair was LONG as a child (Down to my butt!)
I hated brushing it, and it hurt when my mom did it. She eventually told me she was going to "cut it all off" if I didn't start brushing it...
By cutting it "all" off... she meant to my SHOULDERS. That is WAY too far!
I had to cut Aaliyah's hair because she hacked it herself... I hate that I had to cut it to her chin (her hair doesn't grow fast.) It took 4 years for it to reach her shoulders... we cut it to her chin in Aug. and it still hasn't grown more than a CM.

How awful for this girl. You can tell just by the picture she's upset. I can't get my head around WHY her mom would actually do that!!!
