Has 'Intactivist' protesting gone too far?
Discuss.

Definitions:

Intactivist - A person who is against Circumcision.
Intactivism - A made up word that 'Intactivists' use to refer to their cause against Circumcision.
#i2 - A hashtag that 'Intactivists' use on social networking sites.

Before replying with your answer, take into consideration that MANY/MOST Intactivists use bullying, harassment, threats, and stalking to try to scare innocent parents into not circumcising their sons. Intactivists are known for their hate pages on Facebook, multiple fake accounts, stealing pictures and status updates from innocent parents Facebook profiles, and also sending unwanted messages. They hide behind the excuse that they are 'saving our sons', when in reality, they remain ignorant when it comes to the science behind circumcision. They have no respect for other parents. They often compare a simple routine circumcision to 'FGM (female genital mutilation) and rape. They claim that circumcision causes PTSD, Autism, violence in men as they become adults, and that it interferes with breastfeeding and bonding. None of this is true.

PostSubject: Re: Has 'Intactivist' Protesting Gone Too Far?   Has 'Intactivist' Protesting Gone Too Far? Icon_minitimeMon Sep 01, 2014 1:13 am

It'sgone way too far. They have threatened to find out my address and to call cps on me saying that they will say I abuse my children because they were circumsised. They've called me a rapist and a child abuser.
Said that I believe in a strange fairy man because I'm a Christian.
I've seen one who after being blocked on fb for her constant messaging and harassing move to texting a woman about how horrible she is. Even after she was asked to stop. This same woman will call you and threaten things. Even call you at work.
One man asks for pictures of your sons penis to prove he isn't circumsised. They think it's ok to put pictures on fb of penises.
They have overstepped many boundaries and need to stop.

PostSubject: Genital Cutting Culture   Has 'Intactivist' Protesting Gone Too Far? Icon_minitimeMon Sep 01, 2014 7:40 pm

Genital cutting is practiced in many societies and in many different forms - similarly driven by deeply rooted beliefs in proposed health, hygiene, social or other "benefits". In some places it has evolved to resemble a routine "medical procedure", complete with curious "studies" trying to justify the habit. Even opinions of medical professionals are heavily influenced by this culture.

Men and women can keep themselves clean and healthy in the exact same way, and treat or prevent issues in the same way also. Boys and girls deserve equal protection against forced genital cutting.

ABSOLUTELY! These people have gone too far and we're beginning to see that many of them are becoming a danger to parents. I personally witnessed a group of these vicious foreskin fanatics stalk innocent people on Facebook and contact their businesses to stir up trouble. You don't mess with someones life like that. You don't steal an innocent child's photo! Personally, I'm glad there are people out there that are trying to expose this cult for the dangerous people that they are. Human rights have nothing to do with this sadly.

I find it amusing how no anti-circumcision fanatics are willing to take a stab at this post.

ok i couldn't wait, said i would but i can't

Yes the inactivists have gone to far. to stalk women just to send them hateful messages and bash them on their personal facebook pages is just wrong. they go as far as calling it mutilation, molestation, and rape. every picture and meme has an infant penis exposed, horribly wrong information attached. these people are just plain nuts.

i had a talk with my mother about it. she told me it was not a big deal when she had my brothers. and back then those people were just pegged as crazy. i told her how they now keep my previously mentioned pictures on their computers and she agreed that is borderline pedophile and closer to psychotic than crazy.

to have that much time on their hands to stalk and find people who chose to circumcise is just weird. and to have a forum for screenshots of any posts, pictures, profiles, and so on is wrong. they take things way to far. deny science and use only religion for every attack. there is no logic or reasoning with these people.

It is true that there are those who refer to themselves as "intactivists" who definitely go too far. That said..... The Anti infant circumcision movement is much broader than that. It should more often be called the "genital integrity for all humans" movement because it is more about human rights than anything else. Foreskin is normal and nearly &0% of the worlds men are doing just fine with the normal genitals that they were born with. So many crazy inaccurate myths are circulated about foreskin which fuels the idea that babies need to have a normal functional part of their genitals amputated at birth. They do not! So while some people can take their actions too far...... That does not diminish the importance of the cause.

That doesn't excuse stalking, threatening, bullying, harassing, and stealing photos. Oh, and calling peoples places of work as well as making threats. I'm sorry but that is ANTI Human Rights to me!

I try not to, but it's hard when so many on Twitter and Facebook display this type of abhorrent behavior. Those are the people that make me work harder to expose their bullying nonsense.

I support circumcision but think it should be done (for free) at age 18. I've dated guys who were rabid intactivists, but when I saw their junk I could understand why they were crazy. On babies they just don't have enough room for a precise cut.

If it's something guys decide for themselves, these wackjobs won't have anything to complain about. And with my own boys I dealt with doctors who were just pushing it and pushing it. I wanted it done but it was obvious the hospital just wanted money. So I went to a specialist instead. They should also leave the little frenulum under the head - supposedly that's the part the intactivists are really mad about.

I think I can get behind your views for the most part.

For me, I think it's the exaggerations and aggressive tactics towards parents that makes me steer clear of their "cause".

I think the most of them have gone too far. Stealing photos, bullying, harassment, the memes, calling peoples work, threatening to call cps, ect. that's too far and not right. They say all about human rights yet they go and do this shit which is so anti-human rights. Its hard to try and understand where they are coming from when they are doing this. Plus most of them give no proof or give articles, ect that are fake. They always pull other crap then the actual studies, ect. I have yet talked to an in activists that could argue their view in an adult manner.

A few days ago on Twitter, I was given a website to read with a specific article on Circumcision. I opened the site into a new tab and then proceeded to look around. I didn't find any information about the creator of the website, such as name and credentials. I like to make sure that the sites I search for information are factual and backed by legit medical information. If it's not VERIFIED then it's no good! I went back to this person who linked me and asked for information about who created the site. The guy got pissed off and accused me of purposely disregarding this site. I'm sorry but you aren't going to change my views just because you linked me to a site that makes up facts and is based purely on opinion.

Sites like Saving Our Sons and The Whole Network are NOT legit medical sites! The Blood Stained Men are NOT a legit group of medical doctors!

Exactly, no real proof or real studies. Just a bunch of unverified shit that is fake.
