| - - A Mexican mayor whom the country's attorney general has called a "probable mastermind" of a mass abduction of 43 students has been arrested in Mexico City, a federal police spokesman said Tuesday. Iguala, Mexico, Mayor Jose Luis Abarca and his wife, Maria de los Angeles Pineda, were taken into custody at a house they had rented in Mexico City's Iztapalapa neighborhood, Mexican media reported. They did not resist arrest. Mexican Federal Police spokesman Jose Ramon Salinas reported their arrests on his Twitter account. The victims were mostly men in their 20s studying to become teachers at a college in rural Ayotzinapa. On September 26, they traveled on buses and vans to nearby Iguala for a protest. wrote:

| I"m glad they were caught. I read about this the other day and they were in hiding. The article was more aimed at her and she sounds like a horrendous woman. |
