KNOW SOMEONE WHO PLAYS WITH A OUIJA BOARD? DO HIM OR HER A FAVOR AND PASS THIS ALONG  A new horror flick, "Ouija," opens tomorrow, and we fear that if the film is a success, it might reawaken interest in Ouija boards -- the old Victorian parlor "game" where people try to contact the dead. If you know someone who is tempted to play with a Ouija Board, do them a favor and pass this story along -- maybe it will give them pause. This is a cautionary tale about the mortal dangers in opening the door to the dark side.  Ed and Lorraine Warren, the famous occult investigators of Amityville and Annabelle fame (see here: http://tinyurl.com/kvhrjx8), always warned against using them. Ed was a religious demonologist who often worked with Catholic priests to expel evil entities. Lorraine, who is still alive, is a clairvoyant.  "The Ouija board is probably responsible for 7 out of 10 of our cases," Ed once said. "It's one of the first things I ask in an investigation: has any member of the family ever played with a Ouija board?"  The Warrens once investigated the case of a 13-year-old girl who, along with her 10-year-old cousin, one day unwisely played with a Ouija board. Ed explained that the girls got a message through the board that "said that it was an eighteen-year-old boy who had been killed by the police in a rape attempt." The girls demanded proof. The thirteen-year-old said, "If you're really a spirit, ghost, prove it. Put out a light. Show yourself. Move something."  The girls didn't realize they weren't talking to a deceased 18-year-old guy. In fact, the presence they conjured up was never human at all. They were talking to an incubus, a demon in male form that is known to attack women.  A few hours later, in the dead of night, the 13-year-old girl got the proof she demanded. She was sound asleep when she awoke screaming and thrashing about. Her mother ran into her room, and the girl frantically explained that something had gotten into bed with her, that she could feel hands on her body. The mother assured her it was a nightmare and told her to go back to sleep. As the mother headed down the hall, the girl's screams pierced the quiet of the night. This time when the mother came into the room, it was icy cold, there was an odor like rotting flesh, and the mother said she sensed the presence of evil. ("I know what she means by that," Ed Warren later said.) Then it felt like an animal was jumping on and off the bed, and the bed levitated six to eight inches off the floor. The girl was thrown to the ground. The mother grabbed a Bible and started to read from it, but the Bible was torn from her hands and thrown against the wall with such force it turned into confetti.  Doctors and police didn't know what to do. Three nights later, the girl was brought to Ed Warren's study. Ed said "she looked as though she had been in a terrible accident. There were cuts, bruises, burns all over her body." Her neck and arms were covered by black and blue marks. Ed asked her, "What do you think happened here?" At that moment, Ed said, her eyes "bugged out" and, turning to a corner of Ed's study, she screamed that it was coming for her. Her body literally left the floor a few inches, and Ed saw hair being torn right out of her scalp. Teeth marks -- and saliva -- appeared on her arms and legs.  Ed arranged for the girl to be exorcised by three Roman Catholic priests. To our knowledge, the exorcism was successful. As for the Ouija board the girl used, Ed revealed that it was manufactured in -- are you ready? -- Salem, Massachusetts.  Oiuja boards are portals, and sometimes, diabolical forces use them to enter our world. Ed Warren explained: "The person [using the board] has absolutely no control over what comes over the board. You could be thinking you are speaking to your deceased loved one when in reality you might be speaking to something that has never walked the earth in human form." And once a person invites spirits in, they "don't necessarily come when you want them to," Ed explained. "Once you invite them in, they come when THEY want to. Could be 3:00 o'clock in the morning. when you're all alone. Imagine lying in bed all alone and suddenly feeling something crawl into bed with you . . . . We've had many such cases -- people being attacked by an incubus or a succubus. Evil spirits that attack you physically and sexually."  Part of Ed Warren's investigative process was to identify the occult "entryway" the entities used to enter our realm. That entryway might have been opened a full decade earlier when someone in the house played with a Ouija board.  The Warrens spoke in Pittsburgh in 1989, and Ed said this: "Do not fool around with the occult, do not try to communicate with the dead. You might think you have reached a loved one, but it could be something else, something evil. If you want to communicate with spirits, the best way is through prayer." wrote:

I myself have never used a Ouija board and never will. I love investigating and tarot cards and all sorts of other things but I think the Ouija board is the one thing that I will never try, have or use.

I've played with one, and even attempted to play one a few years ago (because it was glow in the dark! and my best friends mom knows how to protect the circle etc.) but she refused to let us do it. So, we just do tarots from time to time, but I will never touch a ouiji board again.

I used one once when i was a dumb 13 year old. Never again.
They should never be used, I dont care if there is a "professional" in the room.
Noone can control spirits or anything else that may come from them.
They are not a game. They are not to be played with.

I agree Mel. Even the best "professional" cannot control what a spirit may or may not do.

I would never use one. I think only evil can come from them. Sometimes people have good intentions but I would rather be safe than sorry.
